"Sanctities" explores spiritual perception through a dual-screen installation centered on the Penrose triangle - an impossible geometric form visible only from specific angles. One screen presents the "complete" triangle, symbolizing transcendent vision, while the other reveals its structural impossibility, representing secular perspective. This spatial dialogue examines how identical moments harbor different meanings through perceptual stance.

"TRIO" is a video shot in the form of a single-screen track that explores the process of establishing and transforming personalized faith experiences. The work uses the wooden Penrose triangle as the core, with three ends carrying a tea cup, a glass cup and a glass teapot respectively, accompanied by a tea-making ceremony, as a manifestation of spirituality from the perspective of faith. This gradual transformation refers to past personal faith experiences, simulating the journey of faith from vagueness to presence. The fragrance of tea becomes a medium between the mortal world and the divine world, exploring the possibility of spirituality transcending matter.
「TRIO」是一項以單屏軌道形式拍攝的錄象,探索個人化信仰體驗的建立與轉化過程。作品以木製潘洛斯三角為核心,三端分別承載敬茶杯、玻璃杯和玻璃茶壺,伴隨一場泡茶儀式,作為信仰視角下的靈性顯現。這一循序漸進的轉換參考過往個人信仰經歷,模擬信仰從模糊到臨在的旅程,茶香成為凡間與神界的媒介,探索靈性超越物質的可能性。

''Memorial '' presents a family bond shaped by faith. As family members travel between Hong Kong and Taiwan for missionary work, voice messages become their means of connection, with faith subtly shaping their communication.
In the visuals, the talisman is repeatedly touched and moved, reflecting faith's presence and shifting familial ties. As a vessel, it intertwines belief and kinship.Through the interplay of sound and image, the work explores nonverbal connections. Amid migration and separation, faith emerges as a binding force, shaping an alternative form of closeness and dependence.
Memorial 展開了一段因信仰而產生的家庭連結。家人因傳教開館往來於港台,語音訊息成為聯繫的方式,話語間流露出信仰形塑的溝通方式。影像中,黃符被反覆觸碰與移動,回應著信仰的力量,也映照家庭關係的流動。作為媒介,黃符承載著親情與信仰交織的痕跡。聲音與影像交錯,呈現出語言之外的交流方式。在遷移與分隔的經驗中,信仰成為連結的紐帶,形塑出另一種形式的依存與聯繫。

The work comprises six frames arranged in an inverted triangular structure, each juxtaposing traditional Taoist talismans with contemporary interpretations. This spatial dialogue manifests as a profound meditation on the transmission of spiritual heritage. The original talismans, executed with classical precision, embody traditional Taoist aesthetic rigor, while the reinterpretations present fluid, organic transformations that diverge from convention.
Creative intervention becomes a sacred ritual of deconstruction and reconstitution. The process begins with reverent material manipulation - kneading, compressing, selecting, tearing, and reassembling - transforming destructive acts into ceremonial reconstruction. This metamorphosis transcends mere formal experimentation, suggesting a deeper reinterpretation of inherited beliefs. The resulting visual tension mirrors an internal dialogue between reverence for tradition and an unconscious yearning for evolution, creating a contemplative space where ancestral practices find contemporary resonance.
作品以六個框架構築倒三角形結構,每框並置傳統道教符咒與當代詮釋,形成靈性傳承的深刻冥想。原始符咒以古典精準度展現傳統道教美學的嚴謹,而新的詮釋則呈現出背離常規的流動有機變化。
創作介入成為了解構與重構的神聖儀式。過程始於對媒材的虔敬操作-揉捻、壓縮、選取、撕裂與重組,將看似破壞的行為轉化為儀式性重建。這種蛻變超越形式實驗,暗示對繼承信仰的重新詮釋。由此產生的視覺張力,映照出在傳統虔敬與無意識演進渴求間的內在對話,創造出古老實踐在當代迴響的冥想空間。

"Penetrating" explores the reappearance and penetration of the talisman image in contemporary cities. The work uses artificial intelligence to generate images, combining night projection and photographic recording, giving the talismans a new visual context in the digital age. The talisman symbols were learned and reconstructed by AI to form a visual vocabulary between tradition and calculation, which was projected at the Sham Shui Po Night Market. The images appear supernatural in the darkness and intersect with the urban texture, responding to the ephemerality of the talisman and the field of belief. Photographic records preserve this image intervention, creating a dialogue between history, technology and space, and exploring the significance and visual possibilities of talismans in modern cities.
《滲於深》探索符籙意象在當代都市的再現與滲透。作品透過人工智能生成影像,結合夜間投影與攝影記錄,使符籙在數位時代呈現新的視覺語境。符籙符號經AI學習與重構,形成介於傳統與演算之間的視覺語彙,並投影於深水埗夜市。影像於黑暗中浮現靈異感,與城市紋理交錯,回應符籙的短暫性與信仰場域。攝影記錄保留這場影像干預,使歷史、技術與空間產生對話,探索符籙在現代都市的意義與視覺可能性。

This piece explores the dialectical relationship between time, labor, and ritual through the juxtaposition of handwritten talismans and mechanical reproduction. The work begins with a father's act of inscribing a fundamental talisman, meticulously timed at 247 seconds - a duration that becomes the critical interface between artisanal and mechanical processes.
Programming the printer to replicate within this precise timeframe generates a compelling tension between human and machine rhythms. The mechanical sounds of reproduction create an inadvertent contemporary ritual chant, while the repetitive process simultaneously deconstructs and reconstructs the talisman's sanctity. Each mechanical iteration, executed in exactly 247 seconds, becomes both a technical reproduction and a reinterpretation of the original sacred moment, establishing a temporal dialogue between traditional spirituality and modern technological precision.
作品透過手寫符咒與機械複製的並置,探討時間、勞動與儀式性的辯證關係。作品始於父親書寫基礎符咒的行為,精確記錄其書寫時間為247秒,此一時間成為連結手工與機械的關鍵介面。

In "In a Ten thousand," holographic projections create a liminal state between reality and virtuality within three-dimensional space. As the Eight Trigrams symbols are projected, they establish a unique spatial boundary - not a physical barrier, but rather a poetic territory constructed of light and shadow. Within this light-woven realm, each line of the trigrams transcends its planar symbolism to become a volumetric presence of light.
The linear elements of the Eight Trigrams flow like luminous meridians, interweaving across dimensional planes. Each line carries its spatial positioning, creating visual hierarchy through variations in elevation. This orchestration of light streams generates a dynamic spatial narrative where traditional symbols acquire new depth through technological mediation. The resulting installation explores the tension between measurable optical phenomena and transcendent spatial poetry, creating an anticipatory atmosphere akin to encountering an unopened mysterious vessel.
《萬象》中的全息投影構建了一個介於虛實之間的三維空間存在。當八卦符號被投射時,形成的並非實體阻隔,而是由光影編織的詩意疆域。在這光織空間中,八卦的每一爻超越平面符號的本質,轉化為具深度的光之存在。
